With the increase of urbanization level, birds that have lived in high-frequency noise environment are aging faster over time.

In the paper Investigating the Acoustic Properties of Materials with Tuning Forks, Z. Laughlin, F. Naumann and MA Miodownik pointed out that brass and steel work better. So I chose brass for the consideration of weight.

在《用音叉研究材料的声学特性》一文中，Z. Laughlin、F. Naumann 和 M. A. Miodownik 指出，黄铜和钢材的效果更佳。因此，出于对重量的考虑，我选择了黄铜。

Design

I designed the wearable device to wear on the arm, based on the survey of people's actions to animals in zoos indicates that people often tap, slap and kick with their arms and legs to interfere with animals, and the most frequent action is performed by arms.

根据对动物园中人们对待动物行为的调查，我发现人们常常用手臂和腿进行拍打、击打和踢踹等动作来干扰动物，其中手臂动作最为频繁。基于此，我设计了一款可佩戴在手臂上的装置。

The wearable device is designed according to the inner skeleton which is based on the movement and shape of the bird's wings.

这款可穿戴装置的设计灵感来源于鸟类翅膀的运动方式与形态，其内部骨架结构也依此构建。

In order to give the arm better stretchability and flexibility, and thus produce the high frequency sound, my final choice is to fix the arm with leather, and use brass chain to increase the flexibility and the range of brass tube.

为了使手臂获得更好的延展性和灵活性，从而产生高频声音，我最终选择用皮革固定手臂，并使用黄铜链条来增加灵活性和黄铜管的运动范围。

Material Development

In the tests of brass plates, solid brass tubes and hollow brass tubes, we found that the sound generated between brass plates was not as loud as the sound between brass tubes. As for the solid and hollow brass tubes of different thicknesses, we found that two hollow brass tubes at a thickness of 5mm can produce more harsh sound and tone tail.

In light of the darkened feathers on aged bird, we made a color-fading effect on brass tubes to strengthen the visual effect. In the local details, the light color leather over hand with similar shade difference and 8mm brass ring that can withstand the weight of brass tube were selected.

在对黄铜板、实心黄铜管和空心黄铜管的测试中，我发现黄铜板之间产生的声音不如黄铜管之间产生的声音响亮。至于不同厚度的实心和空心黄铜管，发现两根厚度为5毫米的空心黄铜管能够产生更刺耳的声音和更长的音尾。

考虑到衰老鸟类羽毛会变暗，我在黄铜管上做了褪色效果以增强视觉效果。在局部细节上，选用了与手部肤色相近的浅色皮革，以及能够承受黄铜管重量的8毫米黄铜环。

The sound itself is invisible, but people's unconscious agitation creates the aging of birds and becomes a tangible sword. The work shows that people can gradually understand the impact on birds during the interaction with the installation, so as to raise their awareness and reduce the occurrence of aging of birds.

声音本身是无形的，但人们无意识的躁动却造成了鸟类的加速衰老，化作一把有形的利剑。这件作品旨在让人们在与之互动的过程中，逐渐意识到自身行为对鸟类造成的影响，从而提高人们的意识，减少鸟类衰老现象的发生。
